    Usually a relatively painless experience

I am absolutely disgraced with the service from Centrelink. I am on a disability pension but had been working 15 hours a week before my place of employment closed their doors. I had then spent from November 2015 until now unemployed. I asked to be hooked in with Work solutions but was told I could not be referred until I was reassessed by my doctor and relevant paper work filled in. I went away, that day ( 5 weeks ago) and was back to Centrelink that same day with paper work filled in. I needed to get re-referred and assessed by someone at centrelink asap as Work Solutions had found me a job under the promise to the employer that they would substitute my wage for a period of time. I have now been to Centrelink on several occasions to be told that the assessor was unwell and there was a back log of people to see, Work solutions have also rang Centrelink who have promised to get back to me with an 'over the phone' assessment so my referral could go through and I could start work. Neither myself or Work Solutions have heard anything from Centrelink regarding an appointment even though we have both tried on several occasions which has put the job in jeopardy. I have now volunteered to work for nothing just so I can keep the job, which is good for the employer but not for me. So, what is it Centrelink???? do you want people to work or not???????????????????? If this is the way they encourage people to seek work, no wonder so many people do not bother. I suffer badly with depression and anxiety which is why I was put on a disability pension in the first place. This whole experience has heightened my symptoms to the point that I feel distressed all the time, which may effect my ability to do this job i was looking forward to. Thanks heaps Centrelink, you have proven that we are all just numbers in a line..
